                CANADIAN ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION
RECOGNIZES MYRIAS RESEARCH CORPORATION FOR ACHIEVEMENT
IN EMERGING TECHNOLOGY; CITED FOR INTRODUCTION OF
                EXPANDABLE PARALLEL PROCESSING SUPERCOMPUTER

Le Meridien Hotel, MONTREAL (April 24, 1989) --- Myrias Research
Corporation, headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, has received an
AWARD OF DISTINCTION from the Canadian Advanced Technology Association
(CATA).

According to Mr. Roy M. Woodbridge, CATA President, "This is the
highest form of recognition CATA bestows on an organization or firm
for significant contribution to technology. In the category of
`EMERGING TECHNOLOGY', Myrias Research Corporation is recognized for
its recent introduction of the SPS-2 expandable parallel processing
supercomputer. It is a prime example of the development of scientific
and technological strength in the Canadian economy."

Mr. Kenneth Gordon, a founder of Myrias and Director of Business
Development, commented as he received the award in Montreal. "This
award from CATA is appreciated both because of the technological
advances that the Myrias SPS-2 incorporates and because of the
significant market potential for this product."

Myrias Research Corporation president, Peter Gregory, added, "The
SPS-2 represents a dramatic breakthrough in technology through the use
of our unique `pardo' programming technique. This Myrias-proprietary
technique enables the SPS-2 to maximize the power from 64 to 1024
microprocessors -- yet sets new standards for ease-of-use by
scientists and engineers."

"For the second time in two years," continued Mr. Gordon, "an
Alberta-based company has received a CATA award. Myrias, a first-time
winner, is proud to be a member of this important segment of the
Canadian economy."

Mr. Gordon went on to say the, "Myrias is dedicated to joining the
list of Canadian companies whose achievements have put Canada at the
forefront of important new technologies. Supercomputing is poised to
be the major enabling technology of the 90's and beyond, and we
believe that with the Myrias technology, Canada can be positioned to
win in several strategic areas, including new materials science and
biotechnology."

Myrias Research Corporation markets the SPS-2, a 64-1024 processor
supercomputer providing UNIX, parallel Fortran and C, and unique
parallel system management software. A wholly-owned subsidiary,
Myrias Computer Corporation, is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Yup. Quite an achievment. I hope things continue to well
for Myrias. When do we see a 10k box? :-)

And to think it all happened in Edmonton.

Best, as we say, regards, Myrias.
