A while ago in this group, there was much debate about the possible demise of VIA Rail, whether this was a good idea, and how to save it. Today, I heard on the news that a VIA report had been leaked that stated that high-speed rail (300 km/h) through Ontario & Quebec (presumably the Windsor-Montreal corridor?) is the only way to make VIA viable. I don't wish to re-start the Train Wars again; however, if, like me, you feel that a high-speed rail line is a good idea, then bug your MP and tell him so. The man with the chin has been very sensitive to public opinion before, and if he believes that the public wants this line, then it just might get done.
