There has been a fair amount of controversy in can.jobs over the acceptability of headhunter postings. Given that can.jobs is not part of the "mainstream" Usenet, the Usenet guidelines don't really apply in this case. In this regard, I thought that a survey on the topic would be appropriate. In the survey, assume that the postings would be for actual jobs only, and contain no additional promotional material. They would not be repeated. In this context, would you approve of: 1. Headhunter postings in can.jobs: YES/NO 2. Headhunter postings in can.jobs.headhunter: YES/NO 3. Headhunter postings in biz.can.jobs: YES/NO 4. Headhunter postings in can.jobs, but for a trial period only: YES/NO Answer YES to all proposals that are acceptable to you, and mail the answers to me (tom@mims-iris.waterloo.edu or tom@mims-iris.uwaterloo.ca). I will post the results after the answers stop coming in. Of course, the results are *very* non-binding :), but maybe they'll give an indication of what everybody thinks.
