I'm looking for the rate of duty that would be charged on a mouse imported from the US. I'd phone Customs, but can you imagine explaining a mouse to them? I wonder if anyone knows the best rate for a mouse or possibly a digitizing tablet (bitpad) which is probably the same. In return, I offer some rates, just under a year old, which are surprising: semiconductors, printers, disk drives -- no duty boards for computers -- 6.3% software -- no duty OR FST I believe card punches and similar clunky devices are also duty-free. As a reminder: landed price = USprice * exchange * duty * FST(9%) + shipping. Last summer, I brought an Epson MX80 in for $680, all inclusive, which is still a pretty good price (from Jade in Calif., which I recommend). peter rowley, U. Toronto CSRG utcsrgv!peterr
