Well, I got lots of notes when I mentioned the eprom programmer card for $99 so rather that reply to each I thought I should post the information so it reaches all. A place here in Toronto (no affiliations) called Exceltronix offers an EPROM burning card that handles the 2700 series of eproms including 2716, 32, 32a, 64, and 128's. It is an IBM PC full size card with two sockets for the 24 and 28 pin eproms. You can optionally add a serial port to the board if your PC is short of them. The software to do the programming is included and yes, the source is included too for the hackers. Other options they offer are ZIF sockets for $40 extra or ZIF sockets on an external card with ribbon cable so you don't have to keep opening you PC to burn an EPROM, $69 extra. The optional serial port is $49 extra. The board generates all the necessary voltages from the standard PC supplies. All prices here are accurate as of their 1986 computers and components catalog. The Toronto store and mail order address is 319 College St. Toronto, Ontario M5T 1S2 (416) 921-8941 The prices are in canadian funds, add $5 for shipping (UPS). They accept visa, MC, Am. Exp., Diners Club. I have dealt with them often since they are just down the street from the university. They are reputable. t.jones
