[les bugs ont faim, n'est-ce pas?] Does anyone know of a GOOD implementation of Forth for the Apple // or //e? I have MVP Forth, but it just doesn't seem to be as fast as I think a proper Forth should be. I'm new to Forth, so I may be mistaken, but I think MVP Forth has a small kernal, with the majority of the words actually written in Forth. I also have GraForth, which is much faster than MVP Forth but is primarily a graphics implementation, and won't let me use the 80 column text screen. I don't want to hear anything like "Why don't you modify what you have to give you the features you want? That's the neat thing about Forth!" I like Forth, but I want to use it, not spend all my time messing with it just to get it to run on my machine. In short, I want to tailor the language to my application. I don't want to have to tailor it to my machine first. Can anyone help me with this? Is there anyone else out there using Forth on an Apple // or //e? Mail replies to me, and if there is interest I'll post a summary. Doug Hall ITT Telecommunications Business & Consumer Communications ittvax!ittral!hall
