[net.lang.forth] Forth dictionary structure query

anderson@uwvax.ARPA (04/23/84)

------------
Where is there a write-up of the internals of fig-Forth? In particular
I want to know the exact structure of the dictionary and of the variables
connected with it (here, latest, context, current). The things whose
structure I don't fully understand are "vocabulary" words and defining words.
I have the fig model listing but it's tough to sort things out without
a global description of the structure.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd recommend "Systems Guide to Fig-Forth" by Ting, sold by Mountain
View Press. MVP's ads are in Dr. Dobb's and probably in Byte. Realize,
of course, that this gives only the Fig implementation of such things --
other implementations are free to implement the same function in other
ways.
