In a recent FIGIL posting someone asked about the MVP-FORTH on the Amiga and AmigaDOS files. Someone else, obviously with zero experience with that software, incorrectly responded. As the author of the Amiga version, let me assure you that it DOES use DOS files and NOT direct access to disk. The Amiga version is a bit different, in that regard, than other MVP-FORTH's but I felt it was essential to get away from direct disk access. There is a complete documentation package available from Mountain View Press, but you would use "from <filename>" to specify what file to use, and then you could do "1 list" or whatever. It does support multiple open files and nested includes. There are other changes such as: upper/lower case sensitivity can be disabled (you can type in either case if you want), there are long memory operators (you can reference anyplace in memory), and there is glue for access to all of the ROM routines. -- Glenn Tenney UUCP: {hplabs,glacier,lll-crg,ihnp4!ptsfa}!well!tenney ARPA: well!tenney@LLL-CRG.ARPA Delphi and MCI Mail: TENNEY As Alphonso Bodoya would say...
