< Cathy Rigby Mason => Cathy Rigby McCoy?? Report on THAT, ABC! > I was watching a wrestling match on TV a few days ago, and I was really getting into it: there was still a minute or two left in the last round, and the outcome was still up for grabs, when suddenly Jim McKay's face appeared on the screen. He calmly stated, "That match concluded with the final score, US 9, ??? 1. Now, let's switch over to the women's basketball game, where things are wrapping up. . ." When the match appeared, there were 30 seconds left in the game, and the US was leading by about 40 points! Although I'm sure that everyone would be interested in knowing that the US basketball team won the game, and that basketball is more popular than wrestling, I think it was a display of very poor judgement on ABC's part to conclude that watching the last few seconds of a rout would be more entertaining to us that the last minute of a heated match. I liked the rude disposal of the final scoreof the wrestling match even less. -- Bill Bulko Department of Computer Sciences The University of Texas {ihnp4,ctvax,seismo}!ut-sally!bulko "Trust is a must or your game is a bust."
