[net.rec] Second posting: Where is Joe Jennings?

jhs@druri.UUCP (ShoreJ) (10/28/84)

[Second posting--apologies if you've already read this.]

Does anyone out there know the whereabouts of Joe Jennings?
He was/is a prominent Isshin Ryu stylist and Thai kick boxer
in the Rochester, N.Y., area in the 70's (World Fighting Arts,
Joe Jennings' Acaedmy of Isshin Ryu), and was associated with
Tatsugo Shimobuku, Ange Uezu, Ed Wipperman, John Overton, Jim
Gordon, Mike Costello, and Joe Pokigo among others.

We've heard he may be in the LA area, but it's not clear whether
or not he has opened another dojo or is even currently active in
Isshin Ryu. Joe is a professional photographer, so anyone in that
area (and not involved in martial arts) may know of him that way.
Telephone no., address, or point of contact would be appreciated.

Ed Wipperman and I want to reestablish/establish (respectively)
contact re Isshin Ryu. Thanx for any info. Please reply to:

This information is somewhat dated, so take it for what it's worth.
One of his schools is about a mile from my house. The promotional
literature and TV adds (none of which I've seen recently) show him
at said school. I seem to remember a piece in the local press (or
was it TV?) within the last few months. Sorry this isn't more
accurate. I guess when you live with a situation for a while you
just assume that no news means no change. I'll post if I can find
any more up to date information.
