[net.rec] Esperanto Scouting

riddle@im4u.UUCP (08/15/85)

Know any kids who are into scouting? Do you think they'd be interested in
corresponding with other scouts around the world, many of whom don't speak
English? The Skolta Esperanto-Ligo is organized to help them do exactly
that, using the international language Esperanto. For more information,
write: SEL, Postbus 433, NL-1500 EK Zaandam, The Netherlands.

Learning enough Esperanto for simple correspondence should be a matter of a
few weeks of occasional spare-time study. The simplest way to get started
with Esperanto is by the free correspondence course offered by the Esperanto
Information Center. The course is easy enough that reasonably bright kids
of middle school age and above shouldn't have too much trouble with it,
especially not if an adult is taking it with them. For the first lesson,
send an SASE to: Verda Stelo, 410 Darrell Road, Hillsborough, CA 94010,
USA; or reply to me by e-mail for an ascii version.
