I guess that puts me in about the middle. I study a style called Shudo-Kan Karate.. We constrait on self-defense and forms. Kind of inbetween the two of you. This would make a good subgroup in net.rec. i.e. net.rec.martial or whatever. Rob Cook

No, we don't need another newsgroup. But I'm enjoying the current
discussion right where it is. Then again, y'all are into technical
climbing, with ropes and stuff (ugh). Any interest in swapping stories
about mountaineering on saner slopes? (Maybe not, Eugene's point is
well-taken; it's a big world with lots of mountains so it's not very
thrilling hearing about other people's adventures in far-away places.)
As you may have noticed elsewhere/elsewhen, I'm into climbing the
Colorado Fourteeners (peaks over 14000'), of which there are 54, plus
about 60 sub-peaks. Climbing all the Fourteeners in this state is a
major accomplishment shared by very few people -- the Colorado Mountain
Club lists only about 300. No wonder, it takes a lot of time and
dedication!
I'm also collecting various information (i.e. on-line data) related
to the subject, including precise locations and elevations of the
Fourteeners, the USGS names data base for Colorado, etc.
