We are in the process of upgrading our Spring 1982 VLSI Tools
Distribution to include newer and better versions of old programs
as well as several new programs. I am now looking for a few
beta test sites. My hope is to send the new distribution to
beta sites in mid- to late-January, get feedback within a couple
of weeks, and make the distribution available to the world at
large sometime in February. The purpose of beta testing is to
make sure that the distribution can be installed and that the
programs come up with no obvious bugs. Any volunteers? The ideal
attributes of a beta site are:
	1. VAX + Berkeley 4.1 Unix + AED or Metheus display.
	2. Willing to make a quick pass through all the tools
over a period of a few weeks in late January.
By the way, the new version of Caesar (version 7) supports multiple
displays. I've installed drivers for AED512's, AED767's, and Metheus
Omega440's. I'd be interested in getting the beta release to anyone
willing to build drivers for other displays; we can then include the
drivers in the final release.
