This is to clarify my last message regarding compiling a list of VLSI
CAD tools running on the VAX under Berkeley UNIX. Some concern has
been raised about restrictions on the use of some of the tools
outside our borders. My original intentions have been that the list be
for US consumption only and that the tools be non-commercial ones.
Further only those who has access to INFO-VLSI and INFO-VAX will have
access to the list. If the tools cannot be listed at all for whatever
reasons, I'll not put them on the list. However if the tools can be
listed but has restrictions on their availability, please state those
restrictions so that I can include the restrictions on the list.

Now on to more pleasant things, I have been getting quite a good
response from you all out there. However some major research
institutions and universities, who I know have a lot of good tools
which satisfy the above conditions, have not responded yet. Perhaps
those of you who know these tools can send me some info. The list is
going to be as good (or as bad) as the response I get.

I do not mind maintaining the list of tools for the time being as I
feel that the list is going to be beneficial to all of us who are in
the VLSI field. But I would not want to be the permanent and only
"volunteer" for this.
