[fa.info-vlsi] SPICE on Sun workstations

KENNER@NYU-CMCL1.ARPA (Richard Kenner) (10/13/85)

Does anyone know how to get SPICE to run on Sun workstations? When I try to
run the version I have been running on a VAX, it doesn't seem to be processing
input cards correctly. I suspect that this may be a byte-ordering problem but
can't seem to get dbx to work for FORTRAN. Someone must have a running
version. Thanks for any help.

I've run Spice 2G.5 and 2G.6 on Sun-2/120's for hundreds of hours
of CPU time. I copied over our vax sources, compiled, and it worked.
In the case of 2G.6, I had to (a) correct the bad format statement in
ERRMEM, (b) turn off the VAXUNIXASM stuff in cunix.c, before it would
compile.
Other versions of Spice will doubtless be different. No one has
the slightest chance of helping unless you say which version!
