A paper presented by P. Sabatier on puzzel grammars given at the Proceedings of the First International Workshop on Natural Language Understanding and Logic Programming, 1984 (proceedings published as the book: Natural Language Understanding and Logic Programmng, Elsevier Science Pub.). This looked very interesting. But a computer search of the literature has not produced any new references to puzzel grammars, even though the paper said some works were in preparation (two years ago). It's probable our on-line databases don't have some non-USA journals... Can anyone point me to more published works on puzzel grammars? Has anyone played with puzzel grammars to determine how well it handles pronouns, coordination, etc.? What are the strengths and weaknesses have been discovered? Sabtier's examples are in PROLOG II and take advantage of dif and freeze. Has anyone tried to implement a version in an Edinburgh PROLOG? George Van Treeck Digital Equip.
