After partner opens 1S, you conduct an orderly and controlled auction,
arriving at the conservative contract of 7H. After West leads you notice
that the whole thing is your partner's fault. You played him for the QS and
he doesnt have it. You still have chances. Plan the play. Two cases:

   1) West leads QD.
   2) West leads a club and East follows with the QC.

My previous reply got jumbled. Sorry.

Let's do 2 first. Win the club. Ruff a club low, cross with a heart.
Ruff another club and cross with another heart. Ruff another club with
dummy's last heart. Now cross by ruffing a diamond. The T is the best
percentage play, but table feel might tell you to lead the K instead.
Now play your last trumps and your club - now good (or else).

Whoever has three or more spades and the diamond A was squeezed. Either
the diamond is good or the spades come down.

In case 1, the diamond lead took away your late reentry. Cover the diamond
and ruff the A. Fortunately, west has the J. Proceed as above. Enter your
hand with the spade K to run the squeeze cards. The ending:
North: S A9, D T South: S 64, C J. If west had the spades, he is squeezed
by the club.

My hastily-constructed plan is to find either KQ doubleton of clubs
or a spade-diamond squeeze. This results in the same play for both
cases. Am I missing an additional chance?
