The 4H bidders felt partner would never raise holding KS or two red jacks. I agree. The 3H bidders felt conservatism should be better and trusted partner to raise with the right values. I however wouldn't hang partner by raising and punishing an aggressive 3H overcall made to get into the auction. E:dbl. If partner bids 3S, correct to 4H showing powerful two suiter. This way we'll get to five diamonds when 4H is wrong. R:it might work. But I don't trust my partners to figure this out. With my luck they'll insist on spades. E:3NT. Showing a red two suiter. R:unless I have a suit of my own, thats where I'd let the contract play. I like keeping auctions simple and avoiding confusion. E:4C. Showing a red two suiter. R:To me, this is a general strong takeout with no interest in playing 3C double. Once again I dislike the confusion aspect of this call.
