C:4C. Complete the description of the hand. If partner prefers diamonds,
return to spades.
E:4C. Misfits don't play well in NT.
E:4C. Its traditional to rebid a seven card suit somewhere along the line.
E:clubs are too hopeless to rebid.
R:Your seven card suit doesn't exactly inspire confidence playing opposite a
stiff.
C:3NT. Best game available. Let partner continue if appropriate.
E:3NT. I tend to play misfits in no trump.
R:I am guilty of this myself. However this does not appear to be the hand for
3NT. Ace of spades opposite a good 6 card suit is very playable. Change my
major suit points(especially spades) to minor suit points, then maybe 3NT.
But as it is, partner should be pleased with my two aces in his suits.
C:4S. Best game available. 3NT is too dangerous.
R:It would be nice to give partner a chance to bid 3NT if his spades aren't
very good.
C:3S. Take your preference. You have adequate support.
C:3S. Don't argue about misfits. Prefer spades now. There might not even be
a game in these cards.
E:3S. Along with the above comments, this bid leaves the most options open.
Partner may try no trump or even support clubs. But a spade contract should
be fine if partner insists.
R:For the record, 3S was the last contract that makes. 3NT is down two, 4S is
down one but has lots of play and chances. Club contracts are a disaster.
Partner had the stiff AC.
