This came up in a club game the other night. Match points, not vul vs. vul, S deals, opponents pass throughout: S: A K 9 2 H: K 10 6 D: 8 2 C: A K Q 4 S: Q J 5 H: A 7 3 2 D: C: J 10 9 8 5 3 Anyone who can show me how get to the odds-on 7S contract intelligently? My partner and I play 2/1 Game Force (Hardy style), but I'd like to hear what other systems do with this... ************************************************************************ I have only one partnership that has the tools to reach 7S. The auction: south north pass 1C 2C(1) 2NT(2) 3H(3) 3S(4) 4D(5) 4S(6) 4NT(7) 5C(8) 5D(9) 5H(10) 5S(11) 6D(12) 7S(13) pass I think some elaboration is in order: 1)forcing for one round, 10+ points in support of clubs, at least 5 clubs. 2)19-20 point no trump hand. 3)natural, checking for a 4-4 heart fit. 4)natural, showing four spades. 5)cue-bid 6)cue-bid 7)keycard blackwood in clubs 8)three keycards excluding the diamond suit which was cue-bid 9)How about the club queen? 10)I have the club queen and the heart king 11)How about the spade suit? 12)I have the spade king without the spade queen 13)I see six club tricks, 5 spade tricks, two hearts with spades trump.
