The U.S. team beat Brazil (no score was given) - apparently the match
was decided on the final board. Austria beat Israel, 434-346.
This could be regarded as a revenge match for the U.S. team, since four
of the six members of the Austrian Bermuda Bowl team were also members
of the Austrian Olympiad team which eliminated the U.S. entry, of which
1985 Bermuda Bowl contestants Bob Hamman and Bobby Wolff were members,
in the quarterfinals of the Seattle Olympiad last fall.
Play was scheduled to begin Thursday and continue until Saturday.
