[net.taxes] Expensing capital equipment: a correction and an apology

andrew@tekecs.UUCP (Andrew Klossner) (08/30/83)

My statement that ACRS allows first-year expensing of up to ten
thousand dollars of capital investment in 1983 is WRONG. I offer my
apologies to the network community for this error, and hope that noone
caught bitten by it.

The actual data are as noted by another correspondent: five thousand
for 1982 and 1983, seven thousand five hundred for 1984 and 1985, and
ten thousand for 1986 and thereafter.

(By the way, I'm glad this was pointed out ... I had planned to expense
more than five thousand this year, but still have time to change my
plans.)
