There is a charitable organization ( I believe it is called *Volunteers
of America*) that advertises in the Chicago Tribune, suggesting that
one donate one's car to charity. I believe the ad said that they will
provide an appraisal for tax purposes. In any case, the ad was located
along with other ads in the "Cars Wanted" column (Most of the ads in
that column offer to tow your car away (if required) and pay you top
dollar)! In any case, the ad runs often, so perhaps you can find something
similar in your local listings.
