[net.taxes] progressive systems are fair?

	Hear, hear!

I don't know about progressive tax systems in general, but I
do know for certain that the current one is unfair:

	(1) I know one relatively rich person. He makes over $100k per
year. He pays [legally] $0 income tax. This isn't a fault
with progressive systems in general; just with the current one.

	(2) I know one single person who makes about $50k per year. He
pays about $10k in federal tax.

	(3) A married couple that I know makes about $55k per year. They
pay about $15k in federal tax (and about $2000 more in FICA
	    than the gentleman in (2)).

Looking at (2) and (3) you will see that the feds have come to
the conclusion that two can live *more cheaply* than one (Why else would
they tax two incomes of ~27k at a greater rate than one income of $50k?).
