Some notes to kick off net.micro.atari:
>From Creative Computing: The 5200 video game has a 6502, Antic
GTIA, and Pokey. Aside from the other obvious things that are
missing (e.g., serial port hardware, keyboard, etc.) software
is sited as the major incompatibility.
The 600 will have an RS-232 port, a full-stroke keyboard,
48K standard, and programmable function keys. They went to a
single board (which they probably should have done in the
first place...) to reduce cost.
Since I want to unload my 400, but still stick with Atari, the
600 sounds like my machine. Compute! claims that the 600 will
be announced this summer (1983) at the CES.
