Todays issue (12/14/82) of the New York Times contains a picture and a not very technical article about the new Atari 1200XL computer. It's on the fourth page of the business section. From the atari club I belong to I've found the following sketchy details: 64K of on board RAM (I don't know how much of it is accessible) Built in RS-232 Built in Microsoft Basic Compatible with existing 400/800 software No expansion slots Suggested retail price of $900-$1000 The lack of expansion slots seems to be the biggest drawback of the new machine. The two nicest expansion features one could get for the 800 is the 80 column card and the RAMDISK. I've seen the 800 with 16K discounted to $499 in the New York City area at that price I think its the best value in personal computers.
