There has been a lot of greif about the Atari 1200XL. There seems to be a lot of confusion as to why Atari introduced it. There are only minor improvements made to it ( 64kram, 14k OS, better color, and sound circuits). BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY EXPANSION SOCKETS AND HAS ONLY TWO JOYSTICK PORTS. Why then did atari introduce the 1200XL? I think the reason it was introduced, was that a lot of computer stores are dropping the Atari 400/800 computers because they can not match the prices of K-mart, Sears, Toys-R-us, and the discount houses. Also there seems to be alot of people out there who think the atari is good for games but does not have the power of an apple II or TRS-80. So why not introduce a new computer with lots of business software and let the computer stores have a product that is over priced like the apple and sell them to people who want a "real" computer? ihuxf!bryan Bryan DeLaney, BTL Naperville IL
