Need ^HELP^...I use my 800 with cassette and an mx80 printer as a text processor of sorts. I can write letters and do a little editing with a fairly short program -- 50 instructions, more or less (not counting remarks). The program listing goes on and off the cassette reliably, but when I try to save a copy of the text, I get a failure. The failure is usually toward the end of the readback process, either 138- or 143- type failures. ......Using the Poole book as a guide, and trying to code as the mailing list example is done, has not worked 100 per cent. I ^HAVE^ been able to store a short string on cassette and retrieve it, but when i try the same code on a string that's a page long, I find the error message waiting for me instead of the text I want. Whatsa matter? .......It would help a lot if I knew how to make the 800 accept this stuff even if there is one or two errors in the I/O process, but it seems determined to give me perfection...or NOTHING! How can I shut off the checking routines? Or at least make them branch back to accept the blocks ..that it ^CAN^ read? John Cocker....mail to:..hou2b!5134jtc... phone 201-949-2595 THANX
