I have a tape problem on my Atari (surprise surprise!) that I thought might have been encountered by somebody. I have a fairly long Basic program CSAVE'd on a cassette (around 100 units by 410 counter) and foolishly only made that single copy. Yep, you guessed it, it won't CLOAD, seems to be a bad spot on the tape - it always fails with a checksum error (143) at the same place, around 75 on 410 counter. Now, is there any way I can load the (good) first 3/4 of the tape from Basic? I've managed to do a low-level copy of the first part onto another tape, and it CLOADs, but dies when trying to go back into Basic (seems to wipe out program or pointers to it). I know that CLOAD format has all kinds of grundgy tables and things in addition to the tokenized program, and these would reflect the full program, so they will probably screw up Basic when it finds a premature EOF. Am I beat? Preferably mail responses to decvax!utzoo!utcsrgv!newman, we don't get net.micro.atari. ADVthanksANCE. Ken Newman
