Sorry about that....I tried to temporarily suspend my article about
the Atari modems and the damn program posted it.  Damn program.

Anyway, the 835 direct connect modem was originally listed as 300/1200
baud, but more recently was listed simply as 300 baud.  I think Atari
got cold feet about the 1200 baud option.

There's now even some question as to whether the 835 is going to be
introduced at all, since some of the new XL computers are supposed to
have built-in modems.  If anybody has additional information about this,
please post.

I am currently using a Microbits modem which connects directly to the
joystick port on the Atari, and now works ok after some aggravating
problems with telephone compatibility (which I posted about a while
back).  It is, of course, 300 baud, but it cost $200 which is a
reasonable price I guess.
