Does anyone have any information on the Indus GT drive for the Atari
Home Computers. Like is it really 4 times faster than an Atari drive,
and if so, how do they accomplish this feat? And what about the
software that comes with it (OS, word processor, etc.)? Are they at all
useful? All info appreciated. Mail replies to:

I just got the latest newsletter from CompuClub. They carry or can get
any disk drive for the Atari computers. They were very impressed with
the Indus GT. They call it the slickest running, fastest loading drive
they have ever seen for the Atari (four times as fast as the 810). The
only thing faster is the Atari 810 equiped with the Happy 810 setup.

The Indus comes ready to run in single density, double density and density
and one half (to match the Atari 1050). It has worked with every piece
of software that they have tried (over 400) with no problems.

With the $120 worth of software that is included with the drive, they feel
that it is the best value on the market today for the Atari.

Their club price is $389. Has anyone seen a better price?

This is in response to Kit Kimes' question, "has anybody seen a better
price than $389 (for the Indus GT)?"

Yes, Gemini Electronics in Cedar Knolls, NJ sells them for $349. However,
I don't know if they handle mail-order or just run a retail store.

I have seen the Indus GT advertised at $375 by the sysop of a Chicago
area Bulletin Board. I think it was FDA, at (312) 335-1652, which is
what prompted my original query. So far I have heard nothing but praise
for this drive. It certainly sounds like a super deal so far.
