Below is the index for the July 1984 issue of Antic magazine. There were a couple of interesting things contained in this issue. I'll comment on them in a seprate article. July 1984 ANTIC Table of Contents Page Article 10 BUILDING BODIES WITH COMPUTERS A continuing story of how the US Women's Volleyball team is being helped by Atari computers. 14 LEARNING TO C A look at the C language and in particular C/65 by OSS. Anyone know anything about this software? I don't find it listed anywhere. 16 CALL ME MODEM A look at bulletin boards with a listing of some that are of particular interest to Atari owners. 21 EVERYBODY NEEDS AMODEM This article contains version 4.2 of AMODEM, a public- domain terminal program. 25 ONLINE SERVICES A look at several telephone accessable services such as THE SOURCE, etc. 31 ACTION! This article discusses advanced programming techniques using the Action! language. 33 A VIRTUAL MIRACLE A look at MicroTelecom's virtual modem prototype. They consider this to be a fourth generation modem. 36 PLATO RISING This article discusses the Plato Services Network and in particular the cartridge that Atari will be selling in the fourth quarter that will allow Atari to be the first home computer to act as a terminal for PLATO. There is an interview with Vincent Wu, the designer of the soft- ware in the cartridge. I hope they have the cartridge at CES next week. I want to check it out. 45 ELECTRONIC NOTEBOOK This article discusses the transfer of date between "notebook" computers and Atari personal computers. An 850 Interface is required. 49 THE SECRETS OF BASIC ANIMATION The conclusion of a two-part article on Player/Missile animation through BASIC. 54 RUN,ROBOT,RUN The fourth part of a series on articles that discuss experiments in practical robotics that can be performed with Atari computers. 60 TALK TO THE STARS Discusses receiving Morse Code, Radioteletype (RTTY) and ASCII via shortwave radio and using a radio modem to read it via your computer. 66 SPACED OUT NUMBERS Contains a RENUMBER program written by Jerry White and Fernando Herrera (of First Star fame) that allow you to renumber a BASIC program, including all references to line numbers in TRAP,GOTO,GOSUB, and RESTORE. I haven't typed it in yet, but looks like an excellent program if you don't already have one. 69 STARSECTOR DEFENSE The game of the month is an arcade-style action game that requires BASIC and 16K RAM (Cassette) or 24K RAM (Disk). 81 CASSETTE LOOKALIKE--YOUR DISK DRIVE This ML program allows you to make your disk drive work like a cassette to test cassette software. 88 PRODUCT REVIEWS Software: Mickey in the Great Outdoors (Walt Disney Prod.)
