[] Look for games and programs for the Atari to be discounted at various video, computer, and other stores. From what I've noticed several titles are incompatable with the new XL line of computers so they are being discounted. Although the Translator disk is available, not many people would buy a new program if it didn't work on their computer without the need to load another disk. Also the translator is unavaliable on cassette, and the time waiting for the translator to load would be frustrating. I've seen good games selling for under $10 and $20 at a couple of places so I am speculating that the above may be the reason. Has anyone else noticed the same. Owen Alexander houxl!oaa

xx <- two-footed bug stomp! It's not just the games that don't work on the XL series that are being discounted. A friend of mine just recently picked up some Thorn EMI games (Sub commander, Pool, Darts, etc) at a big discount ($5 vs. normal $30 price), as well as CBS cartridges ( Mountain King is a wonderful game, and it was only $10). All of the above worked on my 600XL. He bought them at KayBee Toy and Hobby in West Virginia I believe, and I checked out KayBee here in Indianapolis and they were having the same software sale. Also, some of the Software specialty shops are dumping their Atari software (Missile Command was only $5 on cartridge), and they too work on my 600XL. I wonder what's going on?
