[] Computer System News for Dec 17 indicates that Jack Tramiel has announced the ST130, a 68000-based system under $400 to compete with the MacIntosh. The operating system (supposedly called TOS, Tramiel O.S., but I have my doubts that it will be marketed that way) was developed with Digital Research. That's what the article said. A little short on specifics. But guessing from the ubiquitous GEM showings at Comdex, I suspect that this is the MacIntosh-like interface involved. The OS is, then, likely to be related to CP/M or Concurrent DOS.
