I am having a terrible time with Infocom's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This is supposed to be a standard ranking game but I can't seem to get started even though I have had a fair amount of adventure games experience. Perhaps I am not doing all I should on the Earth before trying to hitch a ride on the space ship. I either get killed when the Earth is destroyed or I try to hitch a ride and end up in the pitch dark with no way to go any farther. Any hints without giving it completely away would be appreciated. If you are working on the game and are farther than I am, drop me a line. I'll keep a list and maybe we can keep in touch as we work our way along. I know you can get the hint booklet but I feel that is cheating. Helping each other out is only semi-cheating :-). I hope to hear from at least a few people that are working on this game.
