[net.micro.atari] VT100 or VT52 Emulator for the 1030 and/or 835 modems

lbt3599@ritcv.UUCP (Lenny Tropiano) (04/02/85)

Does anyone know of an emulator for the 1030 and/or 835 Atari modems
that emulates a VT52 or VT100 series. Does it have 80 columns? Is it
public domain? Where can I get it? Is it written in BASIC? 6502? etc..

			I would sure appreciate it!

Just recently I purchased CHAMELEON terminal emulator from APX through ANTIC
magazine. So far I do not have too many comlaints ( you make look a few notes
back for some of my complaints) but it emulates VT52, VT52xl, ADM3, GLASS TTY
and a test terminal. It has a capability of using 40, 80 and 132 columns,
BUT! you can only see 40 columns! (you have a window that can be moved
left and write 40 columns at a time. You do not need the 850 to upload and
download. That is why I was really happy about it! ( for problems look back)
I use it with my 835. The first thing you see is a menu that lets you
pick which device you are going to use.

iThere is a public domain program called VT10SQ. You'll get the
binary version, though its probably written in something like ACtion!
It's fairly commonly available, and emulates an 80 col. screen by
using graphics 8 mode to draw out characters & so on. It runs with both
the 850 & 835/1030 modems thanks to Russ Wetmore etals. new R handler.
Send disk etc. if interested..its is public domain.
