Soon the new Atari ST will be coming out. And I am sure those of you with old atari's don't want to see all the gab about the new atari ST. And those who do want to hear about the Atari ST don't want to hear about the old Ataris. So what do you guys say, a new newsgroup called 'net.micro.atari.ST' or 'net.micro.st' ? or not? I don't think this newsgroup has sufficient traffic to split it up. So I vote "no" to net.micro.atari.st ------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Harrison, Dept. of Physics, Univ. of Toronto, ...utzoo!utcs!{physics,utfyzx!harrison}

I say this because the new operating system is to be run in the same vain as the Mac from Apple (please excuse the dirty word). From inside the Tesseract of Clancy Malloy

I'd rather not weed through the reams of patches to the MacFinder just to find the Atari ST notes. GAK! Judging by the high volume of traffic in the net.micro.atari, I expect keeping the ST stuff in there is probably ok. If ST stuff gets really gigantic, THEN lets worry about net.micro.jac. <bug line> I think creatng a newsgroup for a machine that isn't even being sold yet is premature; I would suggest waiting a month or two before creating the group. In the meantime, some discussion of the ST in this group is not likely to be a problem for anyone. It looks like quite a nice machine, though of course I'll reserve judgement until I have a chance to play with one (probably next month). -- -Bernie Roehl (University of Waterloo) ...decvax!watmath!wateng!broehl
