This week's (13 May) EE Times had a cover item on the ST's at Comdex.
Major items:
1) The 130ST is no more. The 'bundled' 520ST with hi-res (35MHz) B&W
monitor and 0.5MB microfloppy will list for $799.
2) Mention is made in the article of OEM versions of the ST to come
with 1 to 4Mb RAM.
3) Initial winchesters will be third-party, with an Atari-label 15Mb
drive to be offered for $399. shortly thereafter.
4) Tramiel said the company would demo a $499. CD-ROM next month,
using components from N V Philips, with shipment in August.
This is also when volume shipments of the ST are expected to
start.
5) Atari expects to show their NS32000-based system towards the end
of this year.
I saw the 130XE available last night at my local Crazy Eddie (East
Brunswick NJ). Maybe Jack will pull it off, after all.
