Here is the second installment of my first impressions of the software from the Summer CES show: TELARIUM: They have some good graphics/text adventure games but none are available for the Atari and may never be. ELECTRONIC ARTS: They continue to bring out excellent products. The latest available for the Atari is ADVENTURE CONSTRUCTION SET that allows you to write your own adventure. It also contains one full length adventure and 7 mini-adventures. Note, these are not text or graphics adventures but action adventures in the mold of SHAMUS. Their two newest releases (not out yet) are for the C64 only, at first, but Atari might be added. BRODERBUND/SYNAPSE: I'll group them together since they put out one combined catalog. Synapse have three releases in their 'Electronic Novels' series. These are text adventures set in a real-time universe that changes continuously. They are MINDWHEEL, ESSEX and BRIMSTONE (the newest). They are all available for the Atari computers. Another new release is LETTERHEAD, an integrated package that includes a word processor, an address file and graphics capability. It includes on-screen windows and a set of simple commands that let you design letterhead and stationery. It supports mouse, joystick and keyboard control. A new graphics adventure game, THE SERPENTS STAR, is a sequel to THE MASK OF THE SUN and is available for the Atari. BLUE MAX 2000 is available with Atari on one side and Commodore on the other. Several of the new games, though, are being released in C64 format only. These are a few of the things I saw at the CES. I picked up several catalogs of other software but I didn't have a lot of time to see if they would be available for the Atari in the future. If in doubt, I didn't mention them here. Hope you have enjoyed these reports as much as I enjoyed the show. Kit Kimes AT&T Consumer Products Montgomery Works Montgomery, Il. 60538-0305 ..!ihnp4!mgweed!kek
