Does anyone know of a newsgroup (now or in the future) for sources for the
520ST?

tynor@gitpyr.UUCP (Steve Tynor) (08/05/85)

I'm interested! I've got a simple one-point perspective program that I
ported from MegaMax C (for the macintosh) to DR C for the 520. I'll post it
as soon as I get my modem back up...

So here's a vote for net.micro.ST.sources.

I think it would be much more interesting to get first
a newsgroup net.micro.ST. If there is enough interest in
this group, a second group net.sources.st should be established.

Yes. "net.sources".

There have been several proposals for separate source newsgroups for
micros lately, splitting up so that IBMers, CP/Mers, AppleIIers,
etc can all post to "the right group". Unfortunately, no one
is posting source in noticeable quantity for ANY of these machines.
Splitting off new newsgroups should be done when the old newsgroup
is flooded. Creating a newsgroup won't create a stream of articles
that doesn't exist now.

Why net.sources.mac, you ask? Well, a couple of weeks ago, net.sources.mac
was the second largest group in volume. That's why there is a separate
source group for Macintosh software. Net.sources gets almost exclusively
Unix sources, with occasional Vax/VMS source.
And sources for ANY other machine simply aren't showing up.

Here's another vote for net.micro.ST.sources. I've had my ST for a week now,
it is time to get busy getting programs running on it.
