[net.micro.atari] ACTION! i/o call help needed

tlz@druxu.UUCP (ZrustTL) (08/10/85)

Two problems I'm having with ACTION!:

1. When using GetD() I am intermittently getting garbage!

          Open(2,"K:",4,0)
          xyz = GetD(2)
(xyz contains random numbers from 0-255 even though
the same key is hit on the keyboard)

I've tried just using IOCB #7 (ACTION!'s default input channel)
and other tricks but to no avail. The thing that really makes
me crazy is that it works fine until I edit the source file or
do some other equally obscure thing and it breaks until I edit
the file some more!! Maybe I should have used BASIC after all...
Or could this be a CIO problem??

2. I've also had problems using Locate() (occassional hangs, bad
data returned, etc. Anyone else had these problems?

RE:
Two problems I'm having with ACTION!:

I've only been using ACTION! a week or two. I haven't even been
able to get the OPEN procedure to work, much less give me garbage!
I have been able to do I/O at the sector level. I just retrieved
most of a file I had accidentally destroyed (via the editor).

Is there a published 'bug' list?
