*** REP T I L E SAGE *** I'm just starting to mess around with type-in Basic programs from magazines (Compute!, Antic) on my 1200XL, and I'm finding that most programs will not run without modification. I have two problems with this. Firstly, the #$%&! introductory basic book mentions the fact that one can get errors, but fails to give a table of error numbers and their meaning! Could some kind soul provide me with a pointer to some comprehensive Atari Basic documentation, and perhaps e-mail a list of error numbers and decriptions for me to use until such time as I can get it? Secondly, do other XL owners have the same kind of problems (or conversely, do non-XL owners NOT have these problems)? I have Compute!'s Master Memory Map book, which includes a section on differences between the 1200XL and "normal" machines, and will start checking the programs for use of inconsistent memory locations. Can anybody suggest any other approaches? I'm considering writing to the magazines to get suggestions, but thought I'd try here first. Please e-mail any responses to me; if there is sufficient interest I'll send/post a summary. - joel "vo" plutchak {allegra,ihnp4,seismo}!uwvax!uwmacc!oyster
