[net.micro.atari] Haba's Hippo C and 10M Drive

gyuri@eneevax.UUCP (Gyorgy Fekete) (09/20/85)

Haba expects to ship the C compiler "real soon".
The software is copy protected, but it will run from any drive, as long as
you have the original floppy in drive A: when you start the "shell". Once the
"shell" is running, you may remove the Haba disk from A: and stick anything
else you like in it. The whole system comes on a single diskette, including
the editor program, compiler, library and linker. The editor is screen
oriented, uses the F1-10 keys, but no cutsie mousie stuff. One window, one
file (You may read other files into the buffer, delete the stuff you don't
want, etc.).

They are also shipping the 10M hard disk for developers. $799, but has a
heavy duty everything. The consumer version will be ready in a "few weeks",
and will be $650 - 699. Same size (10M), but half the size of the
developers' version. The man said that the developers' version was designed
to take more abuse, constant running, and so on.
