Next week, Atari Corp. will ship copies of 3 give-away programs. Copies will
go to ST dealers and to those user groups who participated in the rollout
program, but we encourage everyone to get copies freom each other. These
include: DOODLE, NEO-CHROME, and ST WRITER. Doodle is similar if not identical
to the one on this SIG. NEO-CHROME is a color drawing program for low res
which includes many features -- but which Atari will continue to enhance until
it is eventually released as a product. ST WRITER is a word processor
identical in function to the 8-bit AtariWriter. It includes a utility for
uploading 8-bit AtariWriter files to the ST. I have been working with NEO and
ST WRITER (nicknamed "starry-writer" here) and they are both quite powerful and
should tide people over until commercial packages hit the streets. In fact,
the only reason why ST WRITER is a freebie is because it makes no use of the
TOS/GEM functions and we wanted commercial packages with our name on them to
take more advantage of the ST system. Watch this space for late-breaking news!
