We're changing the design so that you don't have to cut all your chips out of the board. (Whew!) The reaction we got to that idea was about the same reaction as to a large furry animal meeting it's maker on your living room carpet... That is to say, everyone (including us) hated it. But there appears to be a real nice way around it, which will involve much less modification of your main PC board, as well as allowing us to lower the price on a fully populated board... Will keep you informed. --alex #: 126579 S5/ST Software 24-Sep-85 21:30:25 Sb: #126477-Things Fm: Alex Leavens 74206,1074 To: Argonaut Sftwre, Jez San 72247,3661 Jez: At first, it was gonna plug into sockets for all the ram chips, which meant you were gonna have to cut them out and socket them. You can imagine how well that went over. The design now is to cut out 2 chips (1 from each bank) and socket those, so that you get the address lines, and some power and ground. Other lines will also run for power and ground, as well as the three new lines for RAS and CAS. You will not have to touch your 68000. (Goodness knows I be terrified to touch mine!). --alex The board plugs into those two sockets, and sits above and in back of the current ram... **** End of attached messages ****
