The October 7 issue of Infoworld carries an article on the Apple-DRI affair
which notes that:

"DRI has agreed to pay an undisclosed monetary settlement to Apple as
well as provide programming services for Apple at a reduced rate."

The article also notes the observation of Batteries Included's Michael
Reichmann that:

"Apple is going after everybody. Commodore and Amiga, Microsoft for
Windows - even Mouse Systems for PC Paint, because it looks like
    MacPaint."

Unless I am missing something, it appears to me that Apple is giving up on
attempting to compete in the American small computer market, for which it
very obviously lacks the brains and talent, and simply intends to survive
by preying upon and extorting money from companies such as Atari and Commodore
which have no such lack.

THE 64,000 DOLLAR QUESTION: Is anybody from Xerox reading this? I would, upon
recieving a request from an official representative of Xerox, gladly donate $25
to a fund to be used for the purpose of suing Apple for their flagrant copying
of the "look and feel" of the 8010 Star. I could very easily justify such a
donation as an investment in the American free-enterprise system.

*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE ***
If memory serves me right, in the final days of the old Atari, they spent
more time sueing (suing?) companies than anything else. Maybe its a kinda
final gasp....
