[net.micro.atari] Dvorak bets on ST

bobh@pedsgd.UUCP (Bob Halloran) (10/18/85)

In the latest Infoworld (14 Oct), Dvorak says he thinks the ST will win
out over the Amiga. He also talks about the rumored Nat'l Semi 32000-
based machines being worked up at Atari; he says that Nat'l wants the
business so bad that their people are taking an active hand in getting
the 'TT' series designed ('ST' for Sixteen/Thirty-two, referring
to the 68000's bus/internal widths vs. Thirty-two^2 for Nat'l part).

Mention is also made of the AMIE sound chip upgrade and a possible 256-
color graphics chip upgrade. Couple this with the AT&T deal alluded
to in the Washington Post (see the followup to the item I dragged
over from net.amiga), and Atari looks real good vs. Commodore.

Now, how soon will this stuff hit the shelves?!?!
