I work for the company that bought the AMY chip and sound lab from Atari - Sight & Sound Music Software, Inc. We bought the chip from Atari this summer. Slightly contrary to what John Dvorak and that editor of Atari Explorer says, S & S owns the chip, but Atari reserved the right to buy them from us at foundry prices. However, that means they can buy the chip at cost, but the deal says nothing about software drivers and support, so Atari will have to do this themselves, or contract someone to do it, if they want to put it in future computers. We have an XEM prototype board sitting in a box, gathering dust, up at the office. Rick
