As someone who lives in Ontario, I can confidently say that the badge that
Paul wore on the inside of the Sgt. Pepper cover is the official badge of
the Ontario Provincial Police, therefore the letters are "O.P.P."
However, on Paul's badge, the third letter is not visible enough to tell
whether it's a "P" or a "D", so it became another clue for the rumour of
Paul's death (O.P.D.: officially pronounced dead).

I can see a possibility of this starting a whole rash of articles on clues
for Paul's death, so I'll try to nip it in the bud with this: Make a list
of all the clues you can think of, and MAIL them to me (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
DON'T POST THEM), and in a few weeks I'll summarize and post them.
We already have the O.P.P/D. badge from Sgt. Pepper and "turn me on dead
man" from Revolution 9 from recent postings, so there's no need to mention
them. If the clue you give is not obvious, then expain it; for example, if
your clue is, "Paul has bare feet on the cover of Abbey Road," say also why bare
feet signifies death.
