Has anyone else purchased the Word Magic/Graphic Magic programs listed in the ANTIC catalog? I am not on this mailing list, so I am not sure if they have been mentioned before. I got these 2 programs a week or so ago. While the advertisement which states "functionally equivalent to Macwrite/Macpaint" may be true in the sense that you can print text and graphics on the same page, I am a little disappointed with the way it happens. You have the option of printing a 1/2 or 1/4 page reduction of a graphics screen created with Microillustrator, MicroPainter, etc., and you have to save the screen with the Graphic Magic program. The 1/4 size option is not too bad - it is reasonably fast and takes up around 97 sectors on the disk. 1/2 screen size is another story - it uses over 430 sectors and takes about 4 minutes. Neither of these sizes allow text to be placed on top of the graphic, although this is advertised as an option and is in the manual which comes with the program. You can place text on top, but it is printed as garbage. There are several other things I don't like about the program, but I guess for 19.95 you can't expect much. If anyone else has these 2 items and knows that I am doing something wrong, please let me know. - Brian Reilly con.reilly@su-gsb-how.arpa -------
